It's Friday (not really) But Sunday is Coming (yes really)

Easter is coming!  But before Easter can come Friday must come. They call it good Friday but in reality it was not such a good day if you were around back then.  They took Jesus and tortured him at length, would have killed most men and usually did, then they hung him on a cross to die a slow death.

First however we celebrate Palm Sunday.  The day we use to celebrate the beginning of the end.  Jesus road into town on a donkey, to prove who he was.  He met with old friends and old enemies during the week and was then put on a mock trial where all his friends left him and denied him.

They killed him, buried him and hoped for the best.  But it did not end there (SUNDAY IS COMING!)

1 Corinthians 15:3-8
3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Peter,[b] and then to the Twelve. 6After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

He's ALIVE!  He's Alive and I'm forgiven!

Sad Day

This is a sad day in the united states, health care has passed.  The dem's have used scrupulous rules to achieve what the majority do not want.
How horrible this is!
The untold debt, correuption, and other horrors yet to be visited upon our country because of this bill will only be known for sure in the future.
But the fact that our president lied to us will be seen shortly as taxes start to go up to cover this monster!
IN THIS TIME OF ECONOMIC CRISIS we DO NOT NEED THIS!

Frustration

Frustrated with my "home church".  It is not the first church of choice but in this town it is the closest to what I biblically believe and most of the time the are biblically grounded.
I learned this weekend though that they will not be doing communion on Easter Sunday.  Normally they only do communion on the first Sunday of the month.  I was looking forward to taking communion on Easter Sunday.

I can not think of any reason (ok any good reason) they would move communion from Easter to some other Sunday.  I can think of a lot of bad reasons but no good ones.

So our family has decided that on this Easter we will attend another church that will honor both the risen Lord and Communion, even if that means traveling out of town.

If any one is reading this I would welcome comments on this topic and what you think about it.

I Am Not Ashamed

Romans 1:16 (NIV)
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

What Day Is it

March 1st or February 29?  What day is it really?
If it were a leap year it would be February 29.
So how do you celebrate your birthday if you were truly born on Febrary 29?
Are you really only one year old instead of 4 if your birthday only comes around once every 4 years?
A friend of mine had a birthday party on his "40'th" birthday, they put 10 candles on his cake to celebrate his 10th birthday.
So do you have to wait until you are "64" (16 leap year birthdays) to get a drivers license? So if they just count years do you get to go in on March 28th to take the test (the same month) or do you have to wait until March 1st (the technical day after your birthday) to get your license?

It all brings in interesting things to think about, and why I am glad I was not born on leap day.
So to my friends who celebrate Feb 29th as their birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY (a day late?).
