Someone I was associated with through work passed away recently. I did not know a lot about this man personally but his death has touched me. I could not tell you if he was married, or if he had children; I am not even sure how old he was. I can tell you he had a passion for life and the industry. He promoted GIS when ever he could and was always kind to those around him.
I don't know if he was saved or not, maybe that is what bothers me but I am not sure. I know that his passing has touched many in the Colorado GIS & area industry. He was a friend to all who knew him and willing to reach out hand help with projects when ever he could.
Maybe I am sad because he appeared to be close to my age, maybe but I don't think so. I am not sure why and maybe that buggs me more than anything.
Some colleges touch you more than others. Can you learn anything from someone's life? I think from this friend I learned to act kindly to others and support your industry (GIS) in any way you can. Reach out to those who need help when you can offer it and ask for help from others when you need it. A life well lived!
God help me to be the man you would want me to be! To love as you would have me to love and be kind to those around me.
